News - Attack on The DCP Kola Okunola, an Indigene of Offa, in Bayelsa State

The attention of the national leadership of Offa Descendants Union (O.D.U.), under the distinguished leadership of Dr. Funsho R. Oladipo, has been drawn to the unfortunate attack on the person of DCP Kola Okunola, an indigene of Offa, in Bayelsa State during the last Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The O.D.U National Executives have however examined the situations surrounding the scenario based on facts and figures available at our finger tips and found out that DCP Kola Okunola, was completely innocent.

“While defending the sanctity of our electoral system during the last election, the DCP was attacked by thugs. The same mischievous hoodlums turned around to accuse the DCP of snatching the ballot box.

We see this as an unjust injury on our son and an injury to one is an injury to all. Hence, justice should be served to preserve the sanctity of our institutions. We hereby call on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to also investigate the matter and compensate the DCP accordingly.”
Dr. Oladipo demanded

The O.D.U National Executives, on behalf of the entire people of Offa community, hereby sympathise with the DCP Kola Okunola, and his family over this event.

Signed.
